Petition on Employment Opportunities for Autistic Adults

The Autistic Adults on Tour Foundation is the author of a petition calling for systemic support and professional activation for autistic adults who, after completing their education, often lose continuity of support and are left without a real path toward employment, independence, and further development. In the petition, we draw attention to the situation of people who want to work but are unable to find their place in the open labor market without a properly designed environment, ongoing support, and an individualized approach. We emphasize that, for many autistic adults, work means much more than employment — it provides daily structure, a sense of agency, dignity, and social belonging. The petition was submitted on April 2, 2026, World Autism Awareness Day. On that same day, representatives of the Foundation also took part in a meeting at the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy, where they discussed the need to create real solutions for autistic adults and their families. The Ministry’s response confirmed that the issue has been recognized at the institutional level. For the Foundation, this is an important step, but not the end of its efforts. We will continue to advocate for concrete solutions that not only describe the problem, but truly change the situation of autistic adults after they complete their education.
